Homemade Grape Wine

Learn how to make wine at home. This is a simple recipe and do not use any harmful preservatives. You will definitely enjoy drinking something made by yourself.


Ingredients:

  • Fresh Black grapes - 2 kg
  • Sugar - 1 kg + 500 gm
  • Wheat - 250 gm
  • Boiled water - 4 Litre
  • Yeast - 1 tbsp
 Preparation:


  1. Clean the grapes and wheat separately. Leave it to dry.
  2. Crush the grapes in a food processor.
  3. Sterilize a ceramic container by pouring hot water up to the brim and leave it for 5 min.
  4.  Put the crushed grapes, luke warm water, wheat, yeast and 750 gm sugar in to it. Do not fill it up to the brim. Stir with a clean and dry wooden spoon.
  5. Close the container with the lid and properly seal it using a packaging tape to ensure that it is 100% air tight. Keep the container in a cool dry place.
  6. Daily stir the contents with a dry wooden spoon and seal it afterwards. Repeat this procedure for 20 days.
  7. After 20 days open the container and stir well using the wooden spatula. Drain the contents into a plastic bucket. Line the strainer with a fine cloth for proper straining.
  8. Pour back the strained wine to the ceramic container. Check the sweetness and add rest of the sugar to adjust it.
  9. Stir well and close the lid. Seal the lid with the tape as before.
  10. Repeat the stirring procedure for further 20 days.
  11. Open after 20 days and repeat the straining procedure. Strain slowly so that the sediments wont mix up.
  12. Transfer the strained wine to clean and dry bottles. Do not fill the bottles to the top. Leave some space.   
  13. The wine tastes  better and better as it gets older.
