Dates Pulissery
Dates pulissery is a quick and easy pulissery recipe with minimal ingredients. This one is for the ones who likes the perfect combination of flavors. When mango is not seasonally available and you wish to make mambazha pulissery you can try this one. This one is also a combination of sweet, sour and spicy flavor.
- Dates - 100 gm
- Curd - 2 cups
- Pepper corns - 20
- Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
- Ginger - medium size finely sliced into thin strips
- Green chilli - 2 split
- Curry leaves - 3 sprigs
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Dry red chilly -2
- Fenugreek - 1 tsp
- Mustard - 1 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Water
- Coconut oil
Preparation:
- Deseed the dates and keep aside.
- Grind together grated coconut, peppercorns and cumin powder along with little water to make smooth paste. Keep aside.
- Take a pan and add dates, turmeric powder, chilli powder, sliced ginger, green chillies and enough salt.
- Add 1 cup water and let it boil till the dates become soft.
- Add ground paste to it and let it cook till raw taste goes. Stir in between.
- Add whisked curd to this and combine well. Let it cook for 5 mins. Stir continuously.
- Switch off the flame and keep aside.
- Heat a pan and add some coconut oil.
- Add mustard seeds. Once its starts to splutter add fenugreek seeds and red chilli.
- After 1 min add curry leaves and mix well. Remove from flame and add this seasoning to the pulissery.
- Combine well and enjoy.
Notes:
- If you are using big dates just slice it.
