Karimeen fry (Pearl spot fish fry)
Karimeen fry is a sought after
dish in Kerala. It's a popular and tasty fish usually found in the
backwaters of Kerala. Today am sharing this simple south Indian recipe with
you....
Ingredients

Karimeen
(pearl spot fish) - 2 nos
·
Red
chilli powder-1tsp
·
Turmeric
powder – 1/2tsp
· Lemon juice- 1 tbsp
·
Cooking
oil(preferably coconut oil)
·
Salt to taste
Preparation:
- Clean the fish neatly.
- Make slits on both sides of the fish.
- Mix together red chilli powder, turmeric powder, lemon juice and salt.
- Marinate the fish with this mixture for 15-30 mins so that the flavours get absorbed well.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Deep fry both sides of the fish till it becomes golden brown.
- Remove from flame and drain excess oil. Serve hot.
Note:
1.
You can also use pepper powder instead of red chilli
powder.
